in that it's an artistically respectable release that occasionally goes for too much rather than one that plays it safe and is pleasurable but never goes for enough?
yes. but i mostly was just referring to the actual value of the rating. an album that has a 3.4 rating is usually pretty shitty on here but 3.5, or "great" is how i feel about this album.

lol what? all im saying is that i think this is great. and yeah i do care about album ratings on sputnik. it's a music review site havent you heard? It's not a big deal but the ratings serve a pretty nice and sometimes useful purpose.

Sometimes I mean I'll go through reliable members's ratings of that particular album before listening to it, but I'll admit to giving out four point fives to stuff with a 1.6 avg rating.

well for example i love murder by death's who will survive... and i sometimes consider getting
another one from them. id probably go with one with a high rating over their newest because there's
just a better chance ill like that more.
but there's nothing wrong with giving out a 4.5 to a 1.6 album if that's actually what you think.
but giving bloated ratings to albums with low ratings just for the hell of it would be just
contributing to the implied low value of "album ratings on sputnik". I mean if it's something with a
1.6 then we all probably know the 4.5 is trolling or just dumb anyways.
But if you give something with a respectable rating a 1 or a 5 just for the hell of it that's pretty
stupid.
