good review, I pretty much feel the same way. the summary says it all. there are a few ambient sections/songs that are actually great, but a few are worthless imo. agree about Accord-O-Matic. song bores me to sleep and there's no reason it should take up nearly 8 minutes.
it's like they tried to make the album an exercise in musical patience. the ambient sections for the most part drone on longer than they should, minus a few parts where they are well done. The hard hitting tracks hit you HARD and then fade out as soon as they got there. Yeah Skullstorm and Girth and Greed shouldn't be 8 mins long each, but they started out as nicely developed tunes that shot themselves down as soon as they started.
Overall, this has grown on me a bit over time. I enjoy this record, the hard hitting parts are great, and there are ambient sections that rule. probably won't go any higher than 3.5 tho.
