No my comments had nothing to do with Chan's blog. It's just that I've gotten seriously disinterested with post-rock as of late. I'll give this another listen sometime this week but I don't see my opinion changing.

i respect your opinion as the argument about post-rock becoming quite samey is relevant. even to this band.
but do you remember the first post-rock album you listened to? i bet you listened to it for the first time and wondered what everyone was talking about, then all of a sudden it clicked after repeated listens. it's not like it changes from band to band if both bands are usually noted as good. it's just that you don't really want to go through that process again after doing it many times before.
it can become quite a chore but it usually pays the same.

Yeah I understand what you are saying. The 15th or so post-rock band you hear just doesn't have the same impact as the first. It seems slightly unfair to be critical of this album when I've been saturated with post-rock but that is just the way that it is. After a while I need something 'new' in the genre to recapture my interest.

If you want something fresh sounding in post-rock, check out my dig.

As you will see that song isn't post-rock really. The whole album mixes it up with proggy stuff and post-rock moments. I can't reccomend them any higher. (been whoring them out for the last week or so)
