Cool review, if one didn't go up soon I was going to do it. Pos, and this album is a lot better than La Ciel.

Yeah it is. This has so much momentum built up by the end of the last track. When it's over, I'm just like "fuck yeah, that was awesome." Their debut was cool but it's peak was way too early (inm the first track, even).

I found La Ciel was alot more subtle than this - it had just the perfect balance between that gorgeous ambiance and agressiveness that French emo has, and that the dynamic between the two always seemed so hesitant, as if the band weren't sure whether to push or pull in one direction or the other. It's sublime. I find this a bit more self assured and a little starker in terms of that balance, and its loses that something that La Ciel had, even though this is still brilliant. But I guess you like that.

La Ciel is just so much more krieg, to say otherwise is just fail.

I prefer La Ciel a tiny bit more, but just because I love how aggressive it is. I agree with Streetlight that it perfectly balanced their post-rock and hardcore aspects. And as much as I like the more melodic approach instrumentally and vocally, I loved the screaming on their debut and the guitar riffs just flowed faster and built up so much energy.

This record is a bit more chilled, perhaps even a bit slower tempo wise.

Split with Daitro = their best material.

and i can't say which one is better...both this one and split with Daïtro create their unique atmosphere and glory *_* and both are 5/5 for me

I haven't listened to this enough to be absolutely sure yet, but so far the songwriting on this one is impressing to me. The first time I listened to this it made me physically sit up and listen closer, which is good considering I already liked Ciel.

that's like saying Envy's "All the Footprints You've Ever..." is better than "A Dead Sinking Story" I personally prefer the first one but it doesn't mean it's better)

Why aren't you a staff writer yet, Stephen?

I've never been a huge European Screamo fan, as nothing never really sparked my interest, so the fact that Sed Non Satiata not only enticed me with Le Ciel De Notre Enfance, but completely engrossed me throughout is really something to marvel at.
Haven't gone through the self titled fully yet, but I'm excited.
