Dance Yrself Clean destroys, slays, shits all over everything else on the album. At first i thought i liked it the whole album, and didnt understand why everyone thought it was bland. After a second spin i agree.

however DanceYrself Clean might just be my favorite song of the year.

People who say it sucks still give it an average 2.5 score, I don't get it. I know they have a high profile but give them a low mark if you think it is crap.

I've got nothing against James Murphy at all, he might be a really nice person. I just haven't thought much of his music. After all this is a thread about music not about anything else.

Anyway I bet he - just like any other musician - is happy he has some limelight. People may like or dislike his album, but as he is in the limelight more people will listen to the album than would if he was virtually unknown (the position of most musicians, some really quite good).

hahaha.

I was just poking fun. And yes I'm sure he's enjoying the success.

drunk girls is one of the worst songs ever written in my opinion, not exaggerating

i really don't care for murphy, i think this and sound are both very overrated. i like a few songs but for the most part the hype just ruins it for me.

that being said, All I Want is fucking amazing and my favorite song by him by far

Exactly half of these songs are good, the other half are near-misses to teeth-gnashing. Drunk Girls is the remainder. What is that. The biggest problem on this album, besides lifting so liberally from David Bowie's playbook and being completely revered for it ("We Were There," really?), is that I fail to understand who James Murphy is, only what he vaguely comes to understand of a scene he has far outgrown. That works into LCD Soundsystem as aging-hipster concept but not towards an actual artistic statement. Or does it? Such ambivalence. In any case, "Home" is tremendous.

But back to "Drunk Girls." That song is absolutely horrendous until the part where the chorus lifts, "Drunk boys, drunk boys, drunk boys!" and then it all clicks into place and Murphy stops hating the material as much as the content.
