Kiran, I had a listen to the song you posted on the blog and I liked it apart from the glitchiness of it. Does that same glitchiness run throughout the album?
yeah davey, they make use of a lot of start-stop rythms and big melodic booms. try this: http://hypem.com/#/track/1110659

"yeah davey, they make use of a lot of start-stop rythms and big melodic booms."
I don't mind start-stop rhythms & big melodic booms, but staticy like glitchiness makes my teeth grate. See the only album I have rated a 1 thus far.

Chris (Hornbrook) laid down the live drums for this album. He's Poison the Well's drummer. Love that they can work together on something still. I miss early-era PTW line ups...give me a new bass player every other song so long as Derek is back in the band.

this is nothing like girl talk, davey, try listening to the song i linked earlier. it's the most accessible on here.

ya, the "glitch" aspect of these guys is mainly used to add to the buzzy bass or guitar lines.
The electric crunch is there but not in the same vein as old Girl Talk -- think of this as like a pretty solid representation of mashing punk, dub & house all together. w/ a lil bit of fuzz

who listed the similar bands for these guys? this has no resemblance to Toro Y Moi or any of the others really beyond the use of female vocals

Big, Dumb and Fun, I like... in small doses. An entire album of this is just jarring.
Small Black and Neon Indian maybe? Some of Kissy Sell Out's solo stuff has a similar feeling to this album, even though his stuff is completely different.

Yeah, I'd already heard Rill Rill/Ring Ring as a live version on YouTube. I remember the breaths at the start. Don't mind it... Since there is no glitch. The problem with me & glitch is that my brain has a hard time figuring out if what is underneath is brilliance or crap. Yeti has come valid points though, so I may still listen.
