Well this easily beat out pantha du prince and four tet for best electronic album of the year.

There's been more than 3 "electronic" albums this year, js
I wasn't noting any specific comparison, I was just noting in the "grand scheme" of electronic music.

What?

Damn, that sentence came out odd.

I suppose Cosmogramma is really quite different from the albums I mentioned. I meant to say it wasn't really comparing them, so much as I was lumping them all within the electronic genre. I left out a few including Gonjasufi and The Knife, plus whatever electronic releases I've yet to catch up with.

In general it was a stupid, unthought out statement.

Ugh, this is seriously so fucking good, I've never heard anything like this before. Can't stop listening to this, it's so crazy. Fastest I've ever 5'd an album.

you need to listen to more electronic stuff if you've never heard anything like this before. i'm not saying that this isn't crazy good (i actually love this) but it's not all that different from a lot of other stuff doing the rounds (although one of the best examples of).

Sweet, but I honestly get the feeling nothing else will impress me more than this. I like this a lot better than Endtroducing or Mezzanine tbh...

I know they sound nothing alike, but those are both considered essential albums from their respective genres, both of which seem to be the main influences here.

i suggest this with reasonable caution but aphex twin/venetian snares?

I think Aphex Twin is more likely a main influence than anything trip hop.

Well, for me Endtroducing >>>>>>> Mezzanine, but I'm probably in the minority on that one.
