I so agree with Trey. On face value this is a great album. Great riffs, catchy songs, great vocals (corny lyrics - but who gives a $hit), rhythm section is up to scratch adding great support to the guitars. If grew up in the 80's/90's on a healthy diet of Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeath and Iron Maiden then this band is for you. Then grunge, Indie and Nu-Metal came along and kinda changed everything for us for a long while. Until the mid 2000's when bands like BFMV and A7X put up their middle fingers to all the snob and genre obsessed Metal fans and wore their influences smack bang in the middle of their sleeves. For what it is Fever is a great album and will probably earn BFMV many, many fans and get those who would not have listened to Metal turn their ears to it. I have a sneaking feeling that this album is just an entree to the world for the new A7X album to be released later this year. Metal is back in vogue and BFMV is one of the bands we have to thank for it!! BFMB would have to be one of the most loved and hated bands at the moment so enjoy this album for what it is and if you don't like this sort of Metal look elsewhere. Enjoy

"No one told you that you had to pretend to like it, but you (and others) don't have to act like it's the worst thing in the whole world in some vain attempt to appear… I don't even know what it is you or anyone else hope to accomplish by acting like this is so much more horrible than it really is. I'm also unsure where you think this "trend" is coming from. There are obviously people trying to expand their musical horizons on this site, but that's probably due to their own free will and not some stupid attempt to impress the elitists that posts here. Also, if you look at my ratings, I do like this kind of music, this isn't pretending. As for your other post, I haven't been on here since early in the morning so I don't know who deleted it."
this was a response to the fact that you wrote this review, in part, as a reaction to the negative reviews that this album was getting. i dislike the whole "if you like this style then its good" attitude. no shit, music is subjective. if you like the sound of someone farting into a microphone at 300 bpm (fart-core, needs to be invented seriously) then its good. the trend i was picking out is that there seems to be a transition taking place from the focus on "underground" music to more mainstream stuff. this is still in the very very early stages, more seeds than anything else. i just hope this site doesnt become like PF or some bullshit like that. (yes, PF is relatively mainstream)

as a general trend, there is an inverse relationship between creativity and popularity. the more
popular something is, the more the music is focused on being an accessible "product" rather than
art.
if you like buying products then thats fine. every argument can be negated by the change in
perspective.
point is, instead of growing towards the mainstream, sputnik should dive even deeper underground.
this broadens musical horizons as well as keeps the memberbase (who i expect a large portion would
agree with me) happy

I used to like this band. Then Scream Aim Fire was released and it made me gag. And then I realized they were mediocre.
