This is really good, but nothing is ever going to touch their first album. Fifteen years on and still kickin' ass.
Hell yeah

This is prolly my favorite Rage cd! it is strong all the way through, i love the message, and of course i love the music! i think my fav song would have to be Born Of A Broken Man. good review tho, very informative.

^Audioslave =/= RATM
It isn't RATM without Zack. Audioslave sounds completely different than Rage.

I heard a Rage Against The Machine song on GTA San Andrea's, it reminded me of Kid-Rock

Did.. did you just compare Killing in the Name to Kid Rock? Oh hell no!
I just got this album, and after one listen I think it's better than Evil Empire, but not S/T. That may change the more I listen, however.

For me, the first six tracks really stood out, and the last six just sucked. It is an entirely different style of music, with the last section focusing on quiet guitar riffing and whispered, quiet vocals. But the first six songs are excellent, bringing the fast and furious rap-metal fusion that RATM is known for. Guerrila Radio and Sleep Now In The Fire are probably the two best. Plus, Calm Like A Bomb is in the matrix! How cool is that. You should probably buy the album for the first six songs, but don't expect too much of the last six.

a band who goes to my school is a rage against the machine tribute band. they played they're first show at a coffee house on dec. 8. They started out with Testify..... it was at that moment i was reminded what rage is all about... they are very much against power. Teachers were annoyed with the lyrics and also annoyed that a mosh pit had started in front of the stage. They cut off the mic during the "who controls that past now? controls the future..." and when the chorus came, the lead singer yelled at the top of his lungs (even though we couldn't hear him) "TESTIFY!". and he finished the song this way. So if you're still wondering what ratm is about, re-read this story. you'll figure it out.

heh, there's also a rage tribute band at my school and they posted this myspace bulliten once

Our lunch performance on Wednesday went pretty good, thanks to everyone who came outside to listen even though it was a little cold. After B lunch, we got word that some kids had complained that one of our songs offended them (probably "Why"), so we were told we had to change the song. We aren't going out of our way to offend anyone, we just say what we think and believe in. Of course we realize that many people do not share our views and its fine to disagree, but we don't think thats something to get offended over. To tell someone that they cannot say something just because someone might not like it or agree with it is not right. The school told us we could play our songs at lunch as long as they were appropriate, so whats not appropriate about encouraging free thought and speech? We personally didn't care that Mrs. Loberg might get some calls from parents (thats what we were told), so we played the song anyways.

not as badass though but same ideaThis Message Edited On 08.01.06

One of my favorite albums ever, up there with RATM's other two albums. Mic Check and Calm Like A Bomb are highlights.
