Thank you Caleb, I am ashamed to comment so late, wasn't around at the time of posting. This was convincing enough to make me realize I should lower my 4.5 a notch.

I love Rush, I have a little place in my heart for classic rock and 70's prog. My avatar is Dinosaur Comics.

2112 needed to be the last track. Kind of like what Floyd did with Meddle. You don't open the album with the masterpiece. After hearing it, you know that the rest of the album will just be mediocre

that's the question that separates all the true rush fans from the wannabe rush fans. We're talking 70's Lee, right?

yeahm, I'm not sure why I have this at 3.5 Though I don't find the B side particularly engaging really. Compared to Hemispheres which has LA VILLA FUCKING STRANGIATO

As an impoverished teenager in the outbacks of middle England in the late 70s, the only way I could get to hear this album was to persuade my friends to buy this with their birthday money. Two did, and I thought one was going to kill me because he hated it so much on first hearing. ("Fecking singing pixies, eh?") Back to the album. I'm so glad they did as I have loved Rush music ever since (well to be precise Rush 1974-1982 and again from 1995-2010. You can forget the pop in the middle). Every track is special but the title 2112 is something different. It's a thing of legend and a piece of rock history. Is that saying too much? No.
