Way better than what it seems at first

fuck this album is great why does this site hate it so much?

Because it's average and there are much better albums on Sabbath's discog. At least that's how this one seems to me.

Along with Technical Ecstasy this has grown on me a little, but yeah, they're not even close to the first six or next two albums.

I think I might need to revisit this, but I remember not hating it as much as I expected to. Forbidden and Born Again are Sabbath's real stinkers.
|
| |
Forbidden is the only awful Sabbath album. I actually quite like Born Again

Forbidden is easily the worst but Born Again is pretty bad too.

I find this album (and Technical Ecstasy) more interesting than the majority of what came after. In fact I find myself drawn to this album more than Mob Rules.
Both Dio albums are obviously superior though, there's just something about even the weaker Ozzy-era stuff that is more intriguing somehow.

I know what you mean JT.

I will admit that they certainly experimented a lot on the last two Ozzy albums, though it's up to the listener whether that was for better or worse.
|
| |
SBS and Sabotage have a lot of experimentation too, but they also have much better songwriting

True.

Think I might like this more than Technical Ecstasy.
Really underrated album, might even bump my rating.

The title track rules.

Johnny Blade is the best song between this and TE. Outro kicks ass
|
| |
Agreed with both the above comments.
First 3 songs are really good and feature some of Ozzy's best vocals, particularly Johnny Blade and Junior's Eyes.

Air Dance is seriously amazing too.
