Excellent review. I love that song "Time to Waste" from whatever album it came from, but nothing else has really been very interesting from these guys.

"I honestly can't stand his vocals" Whose? There are 2 vocalists!
"they r s000 punk rawk" I thought someone might mention that... Should have known it would be you DavID. The thing is, it doesn't feel right calling them pop-punk (punk-pop would be better) or alt-rock. And SputnikMusic says they are punk & Sputnik is the bible!
"album is incredibly meh, so has their career been ever since Good Mourning" 3.5 is a high rating for a "meh" album.

Thanks Trey.
'Time To Waste' is from the album 'Crimson', which happens to be my favorite of theirs. Which reminds me, I need to write a sound-off for that album.

Yeah, that's it. I listened to the rest of that album after hearing the song on the radio and it didn't compare at all.

I believe it. I just wish the other songs were more similar to "Time to Waste".

3.5 given because i dont hate the album, its not terrible, also because this band has a special place for me even though there career has certainly gone down.
...and Goddammit is their best, Crimson is weak sauce.

i haven't listened to this band in ages but their split with hot water music is awesome and i go back to from here to infirmary for nostalgia reasons

Who are you and why should I care
made me lol

I honestly believe the bassist's songs are wayyyyyyy better than Skiba's songs on this record.
It's been that way since Good Mourning imo. Skiba really lost his edge a long time ago, it seems to me he just has no inspiration anymore since his band actually got 'successful' on FHTI.
Listening to this album it really is bad, the last one sucked balls as well but this sounds like some awful rip off band.
Their first four full lengths are full of win, Good Mourning was great as well and Crimson was like 50/50.

"Dine, Dine MY Darling"
Oh, you cheeky alkaline trio.

I spun this last night, and really wasn't impressed. I think I like it more than Agony and Irony but thats not really saying much.
I just feel they really reached their pinnacle with Good Mourning, and Crimson (which I enjoy a fair amount) is about as good as they're gonna get since.
I listen a couple more times, but This Addiction and The American Scream are the only 2 that really stood out, and even the former's lyrics are pretty lame.
Oh yeah, and I was glad to see that you wrote this. Nice job as always dude.

Rosco, your comment actually made me question why the hell these guys have never had a Greatest Hits compilation. (a) It would be a great disc, but (b) it would be extremely difficult to pick the songs it would include.
Not sure how I managed that but what would your ideal Greatset Hits look like, might as well listen to more of this band.

"Crimson is their best for sure" I think that's the 1st time we've agreed in a long time DavID.
"I honestly believe the bassist's songs are wayyyyyyy better than Skiba's songs on this record." I'd say their more consistent Jom. Remember that it's 3 against 8. Many fans think it should always have been more of an even split, but that may be robbing Peter to pay Paul (or robbing Dan to pay Matt).
"Dine, Dine MY Darling... Oh, you cheeky alkaline trio." Yeah, I was gonna mention The Misfits referencing phantom.
Thanks Cush. All fair comments from you on this album. You won't be alone with those thoughts.
Wonders will never cease Rosco. I'll get back to you on what my greatest hits of Alk3 would look like... But I can already tell you that most fans would disagree with it. They're one of those bands where the diehard fans really really really like their non-singles. That's why their odds & ends compilation LPs are loved so much.
