fucking beast of an album

''Selkies: The Endless Obsession'' is my favorite song by them. I feel like they lost their way with ''Parallax II: Future Sequence'' and their latest album ''Coma Ecliptic''. It's just noodling about. This album feels more purposeful.

Gotta be honest this is one of their best discs. But Parallax II was good too, it's just the last one that is mediocre as hell

His cleans are so much better on this than Coma Ecliptic. On the new album, they're in the forefront too much and don't create any interesting dynamic like they used to. They just sound like cheesy Dream Theater silliness. Here they're only used when the music and emotion call for them.

^It's really not as bad as people make it out to be

I'm not big on this track-for-track but I really like the post-rocky interludes they used on here plus Backwards Marathon might be their best song
