This is a step down from Welcome to Hell in every way and that album isn't even a 3.5.

Clueless listeners go on that this album and specifically the title track are influential to the genre black metal. In what way, the title and only the title?

'Lay down your soul to the gods rock and roll' - It doesn't get any cheesier and less metal than this - Actually I lied, give 'Teacher's Pet' a listen. Fuck Cronos the poser.

The only thing this album influenced is Darkthrone's awful album from 2013. Fenriz' 80s worshiping is all over that shit. If your looking for something as weak as Black Metal, check 'The Underground Resistance.'

There is absolutely nothing interesting about this album. Simplistic songwriting, forgettable riffs that all sound the same, comical lyrics, pedestrian drumming, and piss-poor vocals.

Weak all around. Not essential and not worth more than one listen.
