If you prefer dark, twisted drug-addled freak out stuff over laid back groovy stuff then you'll agree with me on OHM

Scar Tissue is the only track I can really dig on here tbh. When this came out I was quite big on this but it totally wore off... Kiedis is just annoying for me from this album on, no more balls it seems.

i guess it depends how you define laid back groovy stuff but that sounds interesting, i'll keep it in mind

One Hot Minute is criminally underrated, I'd put it on a par with this.

My fav is def BSSM, it's still a classic in my book. But One Hot Minute also has so many great tunes, Transcending is really good but I dig almost all tracks. Have to give it a spin again.

And Mother's Milk is almost on par as a very close third.

Need to spin Mother's Milk in full, think I've only heard Higher Ground. What are their early albums like?

Mother's Milk just slightly edges out BSSM for me, both are 4.5.

Yeah, def do it, great album. Their early stuff is quite funk-punk-oriented and way more experimental than their later records. Pretty good and very much fun.

Absolutely buddy. Clay bud, their early stuff is very much a hybrid of punk and funk, none of this mellow stuff they had going on here and in stadium arcadium. Mother's Milk and Uplift Mofo are their best from that period so check those out.

Such a fantastic song for sure, Johnny kick a hole and subway to venus are sweet jams too. Entire álbum is for that matter, not an ounce of filler.

Yeah, damn solid album for sure. The intro to Johnny is hilarious, and Kiedis performance on the whole album is awesome. Same goes for One Hot Minute. Damn, where are his balls gone?

Absolutely buddy, this and by the way are pretty enjoyable listens but they can't compare to mother's milk and bssm, and while i never spun stadium arcadium in full (should probably do it today for the sake of it), what i did hear was not very good, very generic and inoffensive.

very generic and inoffensive is how i would describe all their mainstream hits that i've heard tbh

but mother's milk is definitely a lot more my speed, so cheers for that
