I still don't think its entirely worth a 5, but these guys live are great. Especially when you're either on an acid trip or a shake travel.

it rules hard, its one of those albums thats like boring as fuck the first few listens but then one day you accidental let it play on after hemispheres and youre like wow that was actually a cool ass part and then you fall in love even more and its like yea this is great 3.5, but then you listen to it even harder with the lights off naked and youre like DAMN this is a 4 holy shit so yea album rules

Lol. For me, Hemispheres is the benchmark for which all prog rock greatness is comparable. I listened to this album for the first time about 5 years ago and while I liked it well enough, I didn't think it was anything to get excited about. After spinning it just recently at a party, I think I've come to appreciate it much more.

Well, it was a garage party and most of the people there were older (30s and up) and were huge fans of rock music -- they were playing things like AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Styx, etc. I also played some Magma (not sure if you're familiar with 'em or not, but they're pretty, well, challenging, lol) and that went over surprisingly well.

Yeah man, I really enjoy their self-titled as well as Brain Salad Surgery. Shame they aren't
often discussed on Sputnik.

Here's a Magma song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWNj51kGU8g&feature=related If you like this
at all I'd highly recommend you pick up Mekanik Destruktiw Kommandoh
