It's got a handful of good songs (Ocean Breathes Salty, Bukowski, The World at Large), but too many average ones for it to be really great. A good listen but has nothing on their first three.

I agree with this review full heartedly, though i feel Blame it on the tetons is still a good song despite its length and they could deffinately do without "The Devils workday" as soon as i hear that i feel like switching the album, its not as good as "This is a long drive for someone with nothing to think about" but it has its advantages over that album as well, deffinately 4 worthy if i could id go 3.9 but it rounds up i guess

I pretty much pop the CD in and listen to the first four tracks and then skip to Satin in a Coffin. Bury me With it, Bukowski, and The Good Times are Killing me are good songs too though, just not as epic as the ones I previously mentioned. And is it just me, which it probably is, but does The World at Large make you feel all depressed?

The world at large is the single most depressing song in all of history, thats why its followed by float on lol, still a good song though

Haven't we all come the consensus that Johnny Cash's cover of Hurt is the

single most depressing song in all of history
???

this is a pretty good album. the only catchy song on it is "Float On", but that's ok, it's still good.

Why is nobody talking about 'This Devil's Workday'?

I love that song! It's the first Modest Mouse song I heard and it got me into them. Now I realize The Moon & Antarctica is much better, but I still find this CD a good listen every now and again.

This album got a lot of hype, and Float On, The View, and Ocean Breathes Salty are all really awesome songs.... but the rest of the album is just kind of a let down. It seems like it would be much better, but it just didn't get any more exciting the longer I listen to it. It has its moments..but that's all it has. This Message Edited On 02.18.09

Kind of hit and miss, but the hits are more frequent and more obvious.

Good News For People Who Love Bad News.

Hmmm, GNFPWLBN,

That's quite a mouthful,
even if you cut it down.

This album has some really really good tracks on it which alone mean half the criticism it gets is unjustified.

This review starts off well,
then i get to the end of it and think
where is the rest of it?
You missed out some key Tracks like "Bukowski"
and "This Devils Workday". They are both worth mentioning.
I suppose each to their own, But i was surprised these two tracks weren't mentioned.

Ocean Breathes Salty is one of my favorite tracks off this. I was expecting it to be one of the "Key" tracks.
