definitely light years ahead of anything of its time.

Not really. Not even at all. Learn what it is for something to be ahead of its time before declaring it as such.

No, it's not an opinion. This album wasn't ahead of its time at all. Heaps of bands were playing death metal at the time of this album's release, and this just helped pave the way for the brutal death style. If it were ahead of its time, it would be misunderstood and wouldn't be such a crucial pioneer in its respective genre at the time it was.

1/using slams in death metal ahead of its time
2/paved the way for the brutal death style=ahead of its tie.

THAT'S NOT WHAT AHEAD OF ITS TIME MEANS.

OH GOD, NO.

NO.

If something is generally considered to be ahead of its time, it's usually because it was incorporating ideas and styles
that were wild and too different to be accepted at the time of its conception, years later being acknowledged for what it
was.

This wasn't ahead of its time. Suffo played slam death and everyone was like "yeah this is cool lets play like this" and so
it was.
