Whoa that's cool

Transatlanticism is a good album, but I thought that they had a lot of potential. I'm hoping this would be better.

Ah, DCFC nominated for best Alternative Rock Album at the grammys. If they don't win, I hope either Funeral or Guero does, cause the White Stripes get way to much publicity, especially for a mediocre band.

I only have this and Transatlanticism, and I prefer this. It's got more tracks I coud listen to, while the other just has a few songs I like.

Well, Transatlanticism is a much deeper album. I think it's better than this one, if not as easily accessible.

I really liked this album. Way far down on my list of favorite Death Cab CD's though.

This is a cool album. Brothers on a Hotel Bed seems underrated to me. I think it's a great song, one of the best on this album. I actually like that little electronic section in Different Names for the Same Thing.

I got this, and being my first DCFC album, I found it a very pleasant suprise. Great for easy listening well-removed from my other listening stuff (Coldplay, John Mayer). Refreshingly unique and every track has something distincly different about it.

If you liked this then you should progress backwards with DCFC albums. Transatlaticism and then the Photo Album, both of which are true gems.

This album is downright silly. I am not a fan of Death Cab For Cutie, but to give them a fair chance I once borrowed "Plans" from a friend. Me and my other friendd then spent the entire English class for that day laughing at the absurd lyrics. The music wasn't that much better...in fact it was pretty much run-of-the-mill. Ben Gillard may be a tortured soul, but he definetly isn't a poetic one. This Message Edited On 03.19.06

What is so run-of-the-mill about Death Cab's music? And what is so absurd about the lyrics?

Good album, the firts half is certainly better than the second. Tracks 6-11 aren't that strong IMO, minus Crooked Teeth. Love it. 3.5 is accurate.

I can't believe you didn't mention I will follow you into the dark... It is easily their most beautiful and well written song ever. Easily song of the year in my books. (it was also voted song of the year by voters in "Under the Radar" Magazine followed 2ndly by Soul Meets body)

I give this review an A. Woulda been A+ if you woulda made some mention of "I will Follow you into the dark"

okay i don't care what any "photo album" era fans say, "plans" is a damn good album. sure "we have the facts" is epic. no other dcfc album really measures up to that album, but that said, "plans" shows the same songwriting that made "transatlantacism" brilliant. so i'll give it a 4
