The Black Dahlia Murder aren't exactly revolutionary...yes they are heavily influenced by the 'Gothenburg' sound but they certainly aren't ripping it off. I thought the lyrics were very intelligent and Trevor is the perfect vocalist for this band. His high-pitched shrieks are fantastic. The guitarists know how to write some awesome riffs as well. Anyone interested in reviewing 'Unhallowed'?

this band is insane, the vocals arent my favorite, but arent my least favorite. love the drums. these songs are so intense, i love it all.

Seriously guys, BDM > Gothenburg. They have taken the style and improved on it in many ways, such as making it actually have real Death Metal elements (Unlike In Flames and the like), and also combining brilliantly screamed and growled vocals.
For American kids, they do their own take on Death Metal very well, and are a credit to their scene.
Brilliant album too.

just because they don't replicate the Gothenburg sound doesnt make them bad. i wouldnt want to hear another In Flames or Dark Tranquility. Although i really, really like IF, they cant be dupilicated and it makes TBDM original for not sounding like them.This Message Edited On 03.13.06

i agree. an elaboration would be nice.
i dont like a whole lot of these songs, but as musicians they are great, and the vocals grew on me, so i like them nonetheless.

this cd is one of the best cds ive ever bought. the guitar solos are great i usually dont like hearing solos but these ones are nothing like other bands. the new drummer also makes them better than before, hes faster and it changed their sound alot. and the vocals are great

the drummer on this album is a beast, he left though. this album rocks, but i have to say unlike a lot of you, the thing i like least about the album are the solo's. they just seem very lackluster to me.

They're about as death metal as Devildriver, which too arn't Death Metal, but yet still sound liek they wannabe.
