'Smile Kid', the 2nd LP from pop-punk quartet We The Kings, does not stray far from the sound which the Floridians established on their excellent self-titled debut. If anything, there is even more of a slicker pop sound evident here, meaning that those upbeat hooks & catchy choruses well & truly return. Seemingly aimed at an even younger audience than previously (see the surprisingly effective duet with Disney Channel regular Demi Lovato as proof), 'Smile Kid' does come off as comparitively unmemorable, but the band's consistency must still be admired. Recommended Tracks: In-N-Out (Animal Style), Heaven Can Wait, We'll Be A Dream & She Takes Me High.
