What i meant was that this focuses WAY too much on being technical, and completely misses the point of the music. There's really no power and force behind it. It meanders along but never gets anywhere, almost like the first few Opeth albums (albeit a completely different sound).
Overall, its just a boring album with no feeling.

I tend to use Alcest for that. Coincidentally, i acquired this album and Ecailles de Lune before a long trip down to Florida, so i had plenty of time to space (and not pay attention to the road ;-). I was quite looking forward to this after reading your review, but it just didn't do it for me.
Perhaps it's just one of those growers, we'll see what future listens do for it. I own quite a few albums that i disliked the first listen through.

No worries dude and I agree with the Alcest/ shoegazey metal on headphones. Listen to the song 'Forgiveness in Rot' off their s/t album to see what I mean about their songs taking you on a little adventure (as stated in this review too).
