Whoa... did I just see Mr. Davey Boy working up a temper?

On a side note: Fuck the water was cold this morning...

not that it matters, really, and also sorry for the delay but i'm behind on fringe ...below this you
will find my 2 comments...

note first: not once did I ever call you stupid. I called stupid 1) "the comparison" and 2) your
comment, or more specifically, declaring that you are done discussing an obviously hotly debated
topic.

note second: i said it was a good review (otherwise). Read what I actually said and you will see
that it's pretty clear I wouldn't 'neg' you. Rather, I was taking a shot at the fact that your
review (or all staff reviews?) are not pos'able/neg'able....which is another thing that is pretty
stupid, imo...

first:
"i also think that the underoath/gillespie to nirvana/grohl comparison is really stupid.

fine review otherwise"

second:
" "I'm done on the subject."

pretty stupid thing to say in the comments section of your own review. At least give people the
chance to neg it then...

In other news, yeah, they both play drums and can also sing and play other instruments. Except
Gillespie has done so forever, and Grohl's songs came out of nowhere. Also, the Almost is a side
project, spun into an entirely different genre, where FF is an entirely new band, within the same
broad spectrum of alt-rock...

but whatever..."

Ross, The Strokes are faggy. If I comment on your Casablancas review, you know I will have to say 'Is This It' is one of the most over-rated albums ever! Ooops.

Dougie clearly has some major shrinkage issues. You gone into negative, mate?

So I'm not stupid, but the things I'm saying/writing are. Righteo. Your opinion I guess & I can't stop you having one.

As for the staff reviews not being able to be pos'd & neg'd, that's not my decision to make. I'm unsure why you would bring that up in the context you did if you weren't insinuating you would neg the review. But let's drop it... It's a non-issue.

I think the reference re: alt-rock is with regards to Nirvana as compared to Foo Fighters. It's a stretch, but I do agree Underoath to The Almost is a larger change. But as I keep trying to say, the comparison between Gillespie & Grohl wasn't supposed to be an exact facsimilie.

Ok, let's get back to the album... Who's heard it... Whattaya think, etc, etc, etc...

more consistent than southern weather but with lower highs and higher lows...fewer songs id call great tracks but nothing id call sh!t either...dont have a rating yet

and for the record, there is a pretty huge difference between calling a statement stupid and calling the individual stupid. This may help explain what i'm saying (check the ad hominem section)...ill stop bothering you about this now...

Ad hominem is really difficult to say while brushing your teeth. LOL.

I think I'd just have Southern Weather as a little more consistent, but I agree there is nothing too crap here. I just float away during a few of the tracks. Thankfully, the track ordering is good/smart in not placing 2 such tracks together at any stage.

And your "lower highs" comment is partially what I was getting at with my "compromised" comment. I get the feeling that if Gillespie was left to his own devices, he may have taken more risks & some of those peaks off 'Southern Weather' would have been reached.

Southern Weather had 3 or 4 great tracks, while from what I've heard, this is pretty meh.

Yes, I thought I'd go the springer wetsuit today, stupid stupid idea.

Agreed Dougie. This has some good ones too though. Check the recommended tracks.

Poor shrivelling Douglas. Dr. Davey prescribes keeping away from women for a few hours.

Nice story Caleb. Did it end in romance?
