So I'm hijacking this thread in favor of I Explode Like. Along the lines of the new trendy scene sound, but without redundant, retarded vocal effects and balls out electronics. Check out The Angry Wolf. Holy shit this is so catchy.

This album is pretty enjoyable . . . apart from the auto tune

Yup. Check out I Explode Like. Along the same lines but without the vocal effects. And the singer actually varies his clean vocals.

I'll check it out just to laugh at it >: (
But in terms of scenecore, the bestest are Underoath, Dance Gavin Dance, and Dividing the Line :I

Just listened to it.
I Explode Like is entertaining, and has a good vocalist. But still really generic.
I SCREAM AND HAVE BREAKDOWNS AND SOME SYNTH DURING THE CHORUSSSS

See, to me, the only band that would I would apply the term scenecore to there is Dance Gavin Dance along with bands like WCAR, TDWP, Emarosa and all things along that line. Underoath is similar but it it's kind of outside it, if you catch my drift.
I'm Underoath. Holy shit we play breakdowns and scream and sing some times and in one album we used some synth kinda. So generic.
See how hard that was? Stfu and just enjoy it. Not really that generic since they go for more of a trance feel, but it's enjoyable regardless.

Underoath don't play breakdowns, do they?

Idk I was just making a stupid generalization like PirateSquid did. Isn't their new release metalcore though?
|
| |
that's the thing; i still have no idea why they are labeled as metalcore. i've always see them more as post-hardcore.
but yeah, if we assume they are metalcore, their new one plus Define are as well.

Idk I was just making a stupid generalization like PirateSquid did. Isn't their new release metalcore though? Whoooaa, making dumb generalizations without reason, because I actually give valid reasoning?
Look how you showed me my lesson.
And trance doesn't make in non-generic. i.e. Attack Attack!
|

Dance Gavin Dance is definitely my favorite of these 'scene' bands, mostly because they're doing their own thing, they don't sound like any of these cookie-cutter bands

but this band is pretty awful

Dance Gavin Dance is awesome, they're all Math Rocky and experimental.
Pretty awesome.
I just wish they had better lyrics :x

How was your reasoning valid? First off, there's synth throughout the whole song, and a shit ton of bands have breakdowns and screams in them, doesn't mean they're all the same. And I admit my reasoning kinda sucked.
And yea Attack Attack has trance elements too, but I Explode Like disregards the stupid vocal effects and creates a more cohesive sound. Generic != Bad regardless. And don't deny you enjoyed the Shepherd part in The Angry Wolf. More people should check that out rather than this.

CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

NOOOO. Not my style. And piratesquid is the hater here, not me.

Yeah, you're not a hater whatsoever dawg.
"I can't take criticism of music I like well"
|

Album Rating: 2.5
Does hating on a hater make one a hater? But your criticism is bullshit. It's just "generic" bla bla bla. Except you can't really prove it's generic except by using words that apply to a shitload of different sounding bands. And I gave this album a fucken 3. And that's probably gonna go down to a 2.5 right now. So this isn't really "music I like well"

bands like this (Rise Records) always have one or two tracks i actually enjoy. the rest i just delete.
