Great review, going to download this album soon, also, I think there's a typo in the last paragraph..."In short, The Red Chord have solidified themselves as an innovative an unstoppable force in American death metal"

an innovative an unstoppable

just wanted to bring to your attention

Like a Train Through a Pidgeon has always been my favorite song of theirs though Dreaming in Dog Years is incredible as well

The ridiculously overrated scores are a sure sign of the Hype-Train doing its thing. This album is completely "Meh".

Pretty weak album. Generic and plain sounding. Too many core breakdowns. Songs too short. Production leaves something to be desired.

Clients and Prey For Eyes are much better, more varied records. They also have better production. As for Fused.... I don't see why some people have such a hard-on for that record... I listened to it once the entire way through and never touched it again. Completely forgettable.

This album is nowhere near Top-10 material for the year. Think of all the other superior albums that have been released this year..... where do you even begin? Stop being fanboys! Be realists!

Changed my rating from a 2 to a 2.5 after 5 more listens, it's not bad enough for a 2 but not good enough for an above average rating. Now go ahead and flame me sceners, see if I care. :D

I don't know man, while there are breakdowns in this album, they struck me as more Suffocation-influenced than anything else.

Actually this year has not at all lived up to what i thought. I will be a fanboy if i so choose, and this shit is ridiculously good aside from my fanboyism.

Keep'em comin', guys! Good afternoon entertainment while I'm at work! I wanted to love this album, I really did... and I tried... but it just isn't happening even after 10+ spins.

And FWIW (though I know that's useless round these juvenile parts) I'm a huge fan of this band (or was anyway). If an album's average it's average... regardless if it's my favorite band or not. I can admit it. Plus kids... keep in mind these things are subjective. However, please don't let that stop you from flaming, it's fun.

I just don't really understand how you can think that Clients is a great record and then call everyone a scenester for liking this. Just saying.

Who called anyone a scenester for liking this? There are just a lot of scenesters on this site... that's all.

Clients had a certain ferocity to it.... a controlled chaos and a very raw powerful sound. Not to mention the lyrical themes in Clients were very interesting and really added something to the feral atmosphere that record was able to create. I'm not usually a fan of that style, but they perfected it on that record.

Fed.... is just generic and boring. There are a handful of very short moments but overall I feel it's lacking. It can't hold my attention.

You did it here:

Thanks, but no, I didn't.

How does "Now go ahead and flame me sceners, see if I care." somehow equate to "People who like this are scenesters" or "Anyone who likes this is a scenester"?

Oh wait, it doesn't.

Assumptions are the mother of all f**k-ups, Thor. :>
