Listening to this for the first time in years...these lyrics are pissing me off too much, he claims to be spitting the truth but it's just more crazy conspiracy theories that aren't well thought out at all, they're just pissed off...seriously I don't know how anyone who knows anything about 9/11 and American history can listen to cause of death and not think this dude is just an insane uninformed conspiracy theorist...some great beats though

yeah I agree. this album is littered with paranoid lyrics and (almost) cheezy, epic beats. but it's still pretty entertaining. peruvian cocaine, for one, is one bombshell of a track.
|
| |
Lyrics of this guy are very good and well constructed, however the beats that this guy uses are generic and I hate his political views .

Yeah this dude is overrated as fuck. Not saying he's bad, but he's not as great as people make him out to be.
|
| |
At least I prefer this guy over shitty and generica rappers like soulja boy, lol gayne, piles, 2 chainz, waka flocka flame, lil boosie, mac miller and gucci mane. I fucking hate music that makes lower the IQ of normal people

Agreed, but that's way out of context.

if you dont like IMmortal Technique then look in the mirror, yall are just incredibly ignorant. you dont have to be a socialist to know that most of what hes talking about isnt conspiracy theory its obscure facts, nothing wrong with not knowing htis but criticizing the guys music for it going over ur head, and trying to act like HES doming something wrong, is fucking stupid.

this album is mind-blowing good... some of the best hip hop i've heard in my life... if you are going
to criticize his lyrics at least be specific so i can tell you why your wrong, you should probably
take into account what he was trying to do with this more...
|
| |
if this is some of the best hip hop you've ever heard, then perhaps you should keep looking. Lyrics are like shit straight up copied from a conspiracy theorist forum or something, not much originality. Fundamentally his flow sucks, you can hear his fat ass struggle for air when he rhymes. Leaving the past is ok though.

i hope you are being a troll cus if not its painfully obvious you are a kid who hasn't finished your highschool history classes yet ... like i said, you can't be specific in anything you say, you just call everything you are ignorant about a conspiracy theory. his flow is simple but thats for clarity cus the emphasis is the lyrics.
|
| |
There are better acts by far, nas, aesop rock, mos def and more shit like that. He is a generic commie rapper, otherwise his lyrics are good.

what does my name have anything to do with what were talking about...
what
seperates immortal technique is having an actual purpose to making music beyond making money while
ostensibly 'saving the hood' or whatever when in reality they are just making ignorant music for
ignorant people. nas and mos def aren't the best examples of this but they do it far more than
immortal technique.
i serously think yall just need to study more history and you will like this album then... try fact
checking any line in this album or bringing one up for me that you think is false. i didnt like this
in highschool either and loved Illmatic, this shit is 10x as raw and drops way more knowledge than
illmatic and really isnt far behind on sound

I also don't agree with his conclusions a lot of the time... and a lot of these lyrics aren't stuff i
would say myself in the way he did... but when you get past things getting lost in translation and see
where hes coming from, whether you agree with communist revolution idea or not this is witty, poetic
and emotional as hell and educates people with critical but obscure knowledge who listen without
prejudice/bigotry.
|
| |
I have no problem with IM's intentions behind creating music, but he states "facts" that are obscure for sure, and that he uses his own personal life (which couldn't have been easy) as an observational platform too. it's just that lines like this lil' gem...
"And you can't fathom the truth, so you don't hear me
You think illuminati's just a fucking conspiracy theory?
That's why Conservative racists are all runnin' shit
And your phone is tapped by the Federal Government"
...come across as a bit delusional. what makes he a better authority on history? he is a good rapper at times though, and this album is pretty enjoyable. obscurity isn't necessarily the truth because it is less known. but if you are so convicted it will be. there's a dollar value to paranoia too.
