This is actually pretty decent. Rise of Darkness has a sweet thrash riff to it, Hordes of War is straight-up quick with a nice classic metal flow to it.
AND IT HAS SOUND SAMPLES OF GUYS ON HORSES GETTING KILLED THATS TOTALLY BRUTAL!

NOPE THIS IS COOL.

This is probably Immortal's "Now, Diabolical" except that it actually has decent tracks to it. Review is dead on, this is really accessible and easy to listen to, which is probably why I'm enjoying listening to it right now. Nothing fancy, nothing new, just sweet melodic blackened thrash.

I just listened to the album on youtube. The first and last songs were good but the rest bored me. Can anyone recommend any good black metal bands? This is the first one I've ever really checked out. I've been trying to find a great black metal.

Suggestions?

Thanks!

I actually just bought this is album recently, but I had listened to it before numerous times. And it didn't grab me at all, but when I listened to it last night...I was all of sudden enthralled with it. It very much is a homage to Bathory, kind of like what the I project was like. If you liked I, then I can't see why it didn't hit anyone hard. I mean, it took me several listens maybe it will be the same for you!

Going from 4 minutes of tremolo riffs to 8 minutes of tremolo riffs =/= Change

It's slightly different but the big picture is exactly the same.
