Very good album. One major flaw is the monotonous drumming. The drummer has no imagination. An album in the same musical vein, Precambrian, destroys this.

Nothing this band released was ever going to beat Oceanic. This comes the closest, though. The only real problem with this for me is that Aaron Turner's vocals just aren't as compelling on this record as they were on Oceanic. He should have stuck to growling rather than focusing on clean vocals. Also, Altered Course is
pretty boring and overlong. It's sort of like Weight, except Weight actually sounded like it was going to go somewhere.

can't really articulate why, but i've always liked this better than oceanic. friend of mine prefers
wavering radiant, but that kid's ear pussies just haven't loosened up to the heavier stuff yet.

This is funny, album is great, but it's all So Did We, Backlit and Altered Course that carries it. The rest of the songs really don't make a dent for me at all. But damn, those three are good.
