I can't believe I've never posted here before. I love nirvana, this album included.

You listed almost the entire album under the 'shining moments' thing. There really wasn't much of a point to that. And yes, at times what you said was confusing and hard to follow. Other than that it wasn't a bad job.
While Nirvana was BEFORE punk, they really had nothing to do with it. Their entire lifestyle was grunge. not rock or punk as most people would say. Nirvana was just this really good band that got discovered on the off chance that Seattle suddenly became this huge music scene in the 90s. Trust me, I was there.
I found this funny, as I'm sure others did ... maybe she should change her to name to A.Girl.Called.Stupid
Dude all the songs you gave 4 or higher are the singles(excluding serve the servants), which leaves me to believe you didn't like bleach or incesticide, Very Ape and Milk it are fuking genious and so is Scentless Apprentice tuorettes is all about energy dude. Though I disagree with your thoughts in the album you gave that review was well done
Milk It, Tourette's, and Very Ape aren't horrible songs they actually are pretty good. For the most part it's the best energy you hear out of the band other then Grohl on drums. On Very Ape - Grohl drums. On Milk It - The stop and go motion of Novoselic and Cobain bass/guitar. On Tourette's - Cobains schredding, raw, powerful voice.

*sigh* There are very few intelligent people who talk about Nirvana. Most people either say "I luv Nirvana 5/5 all songs Kurt is god!!!"

or

"omg nirvana iz teh sux0rz di3 nirvana fans suk r ghey lolz n00bz lololololollo!!!11"
The live version from "Muddy Banks Of The Wishka" is much better. The IU version isn't a quarter as good.
I agree.

In Utero is the best Nirvana album IMO. I might get it for Christmas along with Bleach.

i dunno how someone can dislike tourette or for that matter most of nirvana's song. the only ones that get me down are very ape, serve the servants and rubbing alcohol.

I just mean, this is not a chat room, there's no reason to post twice like that when once would do. It's spam.

I think this is a much better album than Nevermind. When I think about it as a whole, it's like a really dense slab of grunge-rock. I feel like it has much more cohesion than Nevermind, and that the pleasure of the album working as a whole outstrips Nevermind's couple of standout tracks.
The start of 'Serve the Servants' strikes me as the perfect entrance music for a guest on a talkshow. But my favourite track at the moment is 'Scentless Apprentice' because of it's heaviness, and the pre-chorus guitar part.
'Gallons of rubbing alcohol flow through the strip' is just an afterthought, and basically it's a studio take that is sloppy and all over the place, but I guess the band just carried on for a laugh. It strikes me though that the way Cobain sounds on this 'song' gives the starkest insight into how messed-up he felt, especially when he asks "One more solo?"

4.3/5
