Arguably my favorite album of all-time... Either this or Brand New's TDAG.. Such a hard decision.
Not a bad song on here! And I'm just gonna go outta the norm here and say my favorite song on the
album is probably "Anything". Such a positive, uplifting song. Been listening to it since 2005 and
still feels fresh everytime.
I'm just gonna flat out say, that this is a perfect album.
Oh and @Static, Singularity wasn't terrible.. Sure it wasn't on par with The Everglow, but most
albums aren't except for *maybe* (e)vening.
My list is:
The Everglow/(e)vening: 5
Destination Beautiful/(m)orning: 4
Singularity: 3.5
(a)fternoon: 2
Sorry, (a)fternoon, you kinda let me down, although I must say "Falling Into You" is beautiful. The
rest just didn't sound like Mae.

Yay, another Mae fan who thinks (a)fternoon sucks. Sanity prevails.

I thought that was the general consensus for that EP
Still need to listen to this at some point

It is, according to the rating. I actually feel like an oddball saying I enjoyed it.
That being said, 'The Everglow' remains one of my favorite albums ever, and Mae remains one of the most important bands in my life.

I really want to like this more, but he sounds too much like Owl City

Brilliant review, one of the best I've read here.
Their reunion show in London was the night my flight left. Made me very sad.

i've previewed this, and i know i would love it if i could get past the sugary emo-pop vocals. i'm not sure why they bother me so much, since i'm such a fan of jimmy eat world and the graduate, plus i love their "evening" ep. the singing here just seems so much less mature than "evening".
edit: heck, i even like "north" by something corporate. maybe i should just go ahead and buy this.

ok this is awesome

Adore this album. I refuse to listen to Singularity and Afternoon so it doesn't ruin the rest of it for me.

This clicked hard with me tonight, after like seven years of listening. Holy shit.

i always use sputnik and allmusic for music recommendations. strangely, allmusic entirely contradicts sputnik with regards to mae (they say singularity is best) and anberlin (they say new surrender is best).

Singularity is painfully average.
|

Singularity sucks excluding a few songs. This is waaaaaay better

new project of the mae frontman. is it me or has his voice gone from endearing and beautiful to... just a bit bland?
|
| |
guess they polished his voice up real nice on the everglow then?
|
| |
i haven't listened to this in like a year and a half

Frontman Dave Elkins just sent me an invite to an internet show where they're redoing old songs and have a "big announcement". Oh I hope it's a surprise album! Just spreading the word. Love these guys much
