Are you listening, Javelina?
Every corner of the coast is still clear
All dressed up with some medicine for luck
How I hope that you're still here when I return
Burning bridges is a form of suicide
I saw the fires as the ghost of my life
Passed me by and there is nowhere you can hide
From the lessons or the lies that bind them
I'm so tired, I've had enough
If there's one thing I've learned
You'll always get burned
But you'll never give it up
Can we count on our conversations
To restore us like Energon Cubes
Made one wish for a permanent kiss
That would echo through these bones like arsenic
I can figure out the point of anything
Just not as quick as I can mess up my life
With all my dreams hooked to hospital machines
I think, let's try redefining beautiful
I'm so tired, I've had enough
If there's one thing I've learned
You'll always get burned
But you'll never give it up
This is the best that it will get
Yeah, yeah, yeah, give it up, give it up
This is the best that it will get
Yeah, yeah, give it up
I can figure out the point of anything
I can figure out the point of anything
I can figure out the point of anything
I can figure out the point of anything
I can figure out the point of anything
I can figure out the point of it
I'm so tired, I've had enough
If there's one thing I've learned
You'll always get burned
But you'll never give it up
I'm so tired, I've had enough
If there's one thing I've learned
You'll always get burned
But you'll never give it up

the lyrics on here are pretty impressive indeed.
"I'm sick of the things I do when I'm nervous/like cleaning the oven/or checking my tires"
Not sure if that song is about manic depression, but if it is then that's a very accurate portrait of it.

Damn, I read the complete lyrics for this album and it's a lot more cathartic than I thought

He reminds me a lot of Stephan Jenkins as a lyricist. He's volatile yet sincere, and this feeling of disillusionment pervades all of his work.

I can definitely see that comparison.

I mainly drew that from the last lines of Time Turned Fragile. That might be the most intense thing I've heard from them.
I kinda had to 5 it after I knew what he was saying.

the more you read the lyrics from every album you'll realize that underneath some of the more upbeat poppy songs
and bubbly delivery are really morbid reflections about gut wrenching loss and death. it makes it an extreme bipolar
experience to have someone deliver with such glee, at times, such serious topics with really hard hitting expression.

I'm not sure if I just don't have a taste for pop-punk anymore, or if nothing has come close to being this good in years

it's not fair to compare this with other stuff if you have a nostalgic attachment to it
