I still don't get the appeal of the first one, it just doesn't have the same atmosphere as this one.

New album is good. Their weakest yet for sure, but still great.

Basically if you like the songs they've released so far you'll like the album.

Thought the new songs were really good TK, they seemed to be heading in a more complex direction with the first one they released.

My only gripe about the released tracks (won't say more about the final album) is that they seem to lack the atmospheric punch that this record had.

I've always found it intriguing that literally every time the word "shadows" appears in Be'Lakor's lyrics (which is awfully frequent), the vocalist emphasizes it waaaay more than the rest of the lyrics and it comes out like SHAAAADAAAAOOOWWZZ

The band's pinning for the Sputnik of yore when Shadows' typed,

'The capacity of human intelligence seems to limit the capabilities to expand upon any possible creative aptitudes. Indeed, if one cannot even notice the facets that the ingenuities around him are comprised of, how can he be expected to fashion a beast of his own? This inveterate sense of constraint is a great blow to the veracity of mankind’s abilities. It restrains us and holds our minds to the ground below, averting any possibility of rising above ourselves to something greater; something not fathomed by the conventional mind. This concept of seeking to go beyond one’s self, known as “transcendence”, is essentially a gateway to unlocking pieces of ourselves that can lead to some of the most elaborate and significant creations of our world. For many, this quest to transcend and form creations that were once considered unthinkable and overwhelming consumes life. Certainly it is rare to find such people, but when they are found, creative barriers are destroyed.'

and it was classed as a review. Ah yes, those were the days.

Just listened to this band today for the first time and I was completely blown away by Aspect. This is really good.

This album much of a grower? From Scythe to Sceptre and Countless Skies are phenomenal but everything else seems like a non-event.

Come on, Countless Skies is like one of the most beautiful songs ever written. But so is Sanguinary from the previous album, absolutely amazing song

yeah, as I said, From Scythe to Sceptre and Countless Skies are phenomenal tracks. Its just that the rest of the album is a monotonous and sterile journey for the most part.

At the beginning yes, because it's painfully predictable melodeath totally in the comfort zone.. but the songs are growers
