I thought it was going to be 11 ridiculously long and drawn out samurai swords when I first heard about it

I actually like listening to some folk stuff like this, but this guy's voice is so weak and bland. Not to mention he can't even stay in key half the time, especially the live videos I've seen.

this was a really good review broseph. I also quite enjoy the album, but i was hoping for it to be more "black-metal" sounding. I definitely hear the influence in some of the songs, but i was hoping for more. this will probably be a strong 3.5 to a low 4 eventually.

^^^Same. It's a solid album and all, but I overhyped it. Meh, there will be more quality church burners to come.

It does rule. If I didnt like it, I wouldn't have even bothered adding it to the database. Now back to blazebirth and Entourage.

Be careful though Karl, don't expect any black metal. This is still firmly an indie album.

Strange thing is, I've been listening to more indie lately than usual...

As long as it has the black metal aesthetic, I'll be even happier hahaha.
