the differences are definitely very apparent. This is clearly musically better than messengers, but it still fails to really grab me overall. As a whole, they managed to distinguish this album (for the better) from messengers, but within Constellations itself, each song still lacks a strong individuality.

Yeah that's really a good summary of my gripe with this album. You managed to say it better.

Where's the uniqueness in each track? Sure they have chops but it just gets stale. Even the interlude and whatnot doesn't do much for the album, just varies the pace briefly but doesn't enthrall me in the least.

A step up from messengers I suppose but not enough for me. I might just be picky these days though.

Most of the songs have the same kind of motifs, but most of them also have a pretty decent sense of individuality to me, especially songs like Oceans of Apathy, Marianas Trench, and Meridian.

While ABR is my favorite band in terms of albums and live performance, I will say I thought that breakdowns on "Messengers" were a bit more atypical than the ones found on "Constellations". They were more varied and choppy and a little more "pit worthy" in my opinion. Messengers is awesome!

This is a little bit better than Messengers. But to me everytime they step a bit forward, they seem just as eager to jump back into their comfort zones. Still a fun listen and they're a fun band.

I think that this is better than Messengers too. It's pretty good for a few songs but then just gets repetitive. Meridian is really sweet though.

hm, dont have the record, definitely gonna get it soon, but as far as ive heard, the new stuff doesnt relly grab me as much as messengers did, but then again, messengers had to grow on me too, so...

and about clean singing: if abr started to use clean vocals, id think they sell out, cause then it wouldnt be abr anymore. not using clean vocals is one of the aspects that seperates them from the rest of the pack...
