Listening to this for the first time right now and unless it's all duds from "You Never Know" onward I'm calling bullshit on that 3.3 average. This is excellent so far.
EDIT: hmmmm, this did fall off a teensy tad in the second half but I'd still say a 3.3 average is too harsh

Yeah I'm feeling an optimistic 4 as of now. "Bull Black Nova" was the immediate stunner for me but "One Wing" is up there too.

Bull Black is awesome but this is around the point in their discog where I start being suspicious of their art rock songs, they sometimes feel more like obligatory concessions to the people who just want Wilco to remake YHF or AGIB.

There's definitely a 5/5 tune somewhere in the stretch from "One Wing" through "You and I," probably their best such run of songs since the closing trio on Yankee... maybe even since "Pieholden Suite" through "Via Chicago" on Summerteeth?
EDIT: I'm gonna say "One Wing" as of now because it's currently my most-scrobbled track from this album, but that could easily change
