Why is Jesse unquestionably better? I think the drums have been pretty consistent on all of the albums... and Ratbeard is a better live drummer, IMO.

Absolutely love this. I've been following these lads since their first release and I find Dallas kind of annoying because he oversings everything but it was really good on this record. I'd equal it to Watch Out!

Yet to pick this up, but from what I have heard this no where nears Watch Out!

It's really nothing like Watch Out! so you can't compare them. Oh wait, they were made by the same band.

Fact: we both typed the album "Watch Out!" with the exclamation point.

What you said actually proves nothing, Watch Out! (exclamation mark is part or the title, hence why I wrote it) is consderiably better.

this album was definately written so that mainstream music listeners could get into it...watch out! is a lot more technical in many aspects.

Consistent, but unvaried. I don't know whether it's a negative thing that all the songs are of a similar style. They've releases previous material so we know they're not one-trick ponies; I don't see why they HAVE to release a varied album. I like it.

To fan the flames; Crisis was better than Watch Out!

so i finally got around to listening to this and while it was interesting and pretty solid it definitely wasn't anything special.

I didn't find Crisis to be anything special either.

Hmm, on first listen it's alright. Nothing special but then I thought the same about Crisis so I'll give it a few more listens yet.

Probably their most consistent album without reaching the emotive heights of classics: Boiled Frogs, Mailbox Arson (Crisis) and It Was Fear of Myself That Made Me Odd, Get Fighted (Watch Out). Musically Alexisonfire are a very tight band with catchy rockin hardcore pop songs. Dallas Green's amazing melodic vocals make this band. You must check out his first solo City and Colour album - it'll put a lump in any one's throat. Light and Shade often produce the best music (i.e. Opeth, Tool, P. Tree). The contrast of mood/style builds more intensity and emotion. I've never really liked the other hardcore vocalist in Alexisonfire, now I love Napalm Death and Opeth, it's just this vocalist doesn't work for me. I think the big dude in the band has a better rock voice and blends better with Dallas Green. Old Crows/Young Cardinals really doesn't have a bad track. Stand out songs: Emerald Street, Born and Raised, Young Cardinals, Heading For The Sun, Midnight Regulations, The Northern. These are the highlights, mainly because of the catchy and emotive resonance in Dallas Green's vocals.

I like this, but it's my least favorite of all their albums. Nothing really stands out..

It is a bit dissappointing, but not worthy of a "1" rating imo. That rating is reserved for bands like "Brokencyde," certainly this isn't THAT bad, is it?
