I feel like most of the cheesiest humorous moments on their heaviest albums like ToT, SC, and this were mainly Portnoy’s ideas, whereas the cheesy melodramatic symphonic rock stuff in their ‘10s albums after Portnoy left were more Petrucci’s doing.

What's sad is the moments Portnoy brought his vocals out, I found myself hating the songs for a few seconds. But after hearing their new album, hearing the chorus to The Count of Tuscany leaves me saying, "you know what? I'm okay with this."
