Brilliant album, though there aren't really any surprises here, and its far from their best, considering their past. Mind you, The count of Tuscany is amazing!

I personally like the instrumental tracks better than the actual songs. Labrie is the weakest part of this album IMO.

That part is awesome, but the section after it kinda kills the song for me a little bit now.

Never understood the love for the count of tuscany. Sure, it's a good song, but not that great.

Octavarium and ACOS > TCOT by a longshot.

Funny if you go on the Dream Theater forums people are constantly trashing this album and pumping up the new album... They're on a different level to me, the new album has its good moments, then its moments where you're just embarrassed for them (Build Me Up, Break Me Down). Not to say the song as a whole is terrible (the chorus is catchy) but most of the song is pretty weak. I love every track on this album personally. DT fan boys are afraid to praise it now because they're secretly butthurt about Portnoy leaving and they know DT is missing something without him. Not trying to put Mangini down because I do like him but if you saw DT in concert you can tell something is missing now.

This is definately one of DT's finest albums since Images and Words, and I had no regrets getting it.

I wasn't a fan of this album actually. I thought the lyrics were cheesy on this one, especially the Count of Tuscany. Love the band though
