pretty much in order to be in a grind band you have to master harsh vocals.

No I mean like you have to be crazy good at all types of harsh vocals. I am a harsh vocalist and learning lows for example is completely different from learning highs or death growls, just because you can do one doesn't mean you can do the other: and then you have to be able to switch between them on the fly often in grind which is no easy task either.
