For some reason i couldn't put a 1.5 to this album. It doesn't deserve a 2, imo. It's uninspired very low tempo 70's rock. Nothing to hear, really as it's pretty far from every great album of the time AND of hard rock/metal as well. Rob Halford really never was able to sing (unless you think someone with his balls stuck in a door crying is a good singer).
Sure i wasn't born when it came out and sure it might have had a great impact...but
honestly, I really don't think many people would give this album a go in these recent days. Far from a classic...I'd call it "very overrated".
Maybe it's because i'm a fan of music more than vocals and the music on this album is very very old school and it sounds very 70s (far from the best of the period like Hendrix for instance)...
I mean, there's really no reason that it should be in the best albums ever. Except maybe, the impact it might've had on other groups at the time. Re-listen to it nowadays and you'll see (/hear) what i mean. It hasn't aged well. Classics do.

One of the most moronic statements I've ever heard.

There's more singing variety on this album than most singers attempt in their whole career.

obviously the dude who wrote that is some middle school kid, especially since he compared it to other 70's like Hendrix, who was a primarily 60's musician and was done recording 5-6 years before this in another genre

Okaaaay. So you guys tell me to kill myself and that i'm a "retard" because i disagree with popular opinion about an overrated old album. I'm 33 years old btw. Halford has a crappy voice in my opinion, that's what i meant by not being able to sing. He obviously knows how to sing but his voice sucks. Again, this is just my opinion. But i haven't insulted anyone. And The Beatles are just average when you compare them to what's available today. I know it had a great impact on the musical world but to me, classics are songs you can listen in any era and still get the same effect. Go listen to Tchaikovsky or Wagner and yeah, you're going to understand right away why it's called "classical" music. This sad album ? Not worth the plastic.
