It's a very different style though, this is more experimental and the rapping is a lot less conventional than on Black on Both Sides. I prefer his debut as well, but this album is still amazing.

Black on both sides is a lot more consistent in my opinion. I like this album a lot, but Black is one of the best hip-hop debuts around
