from first listen, I'm not getting why people consider this to be a sub-par record by them, even though Heartwork blows this away, I like a good deal of tracks from this. then again, my taste in Death Metal usually is on the more melodic side, so that may be why

As a Carcass fanboy, Surgical Steel was like a 'Greatest Hits' compilation of entirely new songs. They mashed together a lot of their old styles and made a nice comeback.
