Spot on Sowing. Be interested to know which half you think is crap. Fig with a Bellyache is dreadful.

Fig with a Bellyache is the weakest song and it's still pretty darn good

Fig with a Bellyache is one of my favorite songs on this album. It is way better than that Allah song and you know it.

It's as if the total uselessness of Allah destroys the greatness of Beetle king

I always thought this was considered the "black sheep" out of all of mewithoutYou's full length albums.
Still a good album but it is lacking in... something

Hmm. Looking at the track list, there aren't that many songs I don't like. But, I rarely listen to this album. I'm not sure what it is that holds it back for me, but overall I think it is pretty weak next to the rest of their catalog.

yeah this is a solid album for sure but weiss certainly wasn't at his usual level on this

Weiss functioning at 75% is better than most front men functioning at 100% tho

took me awhile to decide on a rating but damn the hate for this album makes me sad
such an inventive and captivating album
|
| |
didn't listen to all of it yet but judging from the songs already heard I hope this will fit me more than Pale Horses
|
| |
that's funny because this has a reputation as the odd one out in their discography and it might actually be my personal favorite

Dismissed the album at first except for a couple of songs. Then I saw Timothy Hay live and really loved it. Now the album finally clicks with me.

How does this sound so ambitious yet so uninspired at times? There are some really good songs on here, but for the most part it just doesn't feel as genuine as any of their other releases.
I listened to this on my way to work for the first time in a few years and I can remember why it has been so long. If they did more cool stuff like they do at the ending of Every Though a Thought of You I think this could have turned out better.
