Alexi laiho and the guy in dragonforce to name two.
Is this a joke? Alexi is pretty good but has nowhere near the kind of instantly recognizable style that Dime had. And both dudes from Dragonforce suck.

I disagree with you, rattlehead. I think Alexi is incredible, and I haven't heard much Dragonforce, but Herman Li has impressed me with what I've heard.

All three are great, but they all rely on over top leads rather than writing good songs. Dime had a knack for writing great songs, and still managed to play some really technical stuff.

Picked this up a couple days ago. This and Cowboys From Hell are both amazing.

Dime has written riffs that are famous on their own, cant say the same for alexi, or the dragon force cats, dime and alexi arewere both rediculously tight live, but i cant say the same for dragon force, and i have also heard, (i'll be the first to agree that it could be B.S.) but i've heard that the dragon force albums are artificially sped up a bit. it wouldnt surprise me either way, but the one chance i got to see DF live it didnt seem as fast or as tight as on album

I'm laughing at the page1 comment about the guy from Dragonforce: ever heard them without production out the arse? they're awful..
Dimebag was always good, live or not.

Used to enjoy that song a fair bit, but eh. Doesn't catch me nowadays.

It's still got the same amount of punch it packed when I first heard it four years ago. It's one of my all time favorite metal songs because it's just fucking creepy, dude.

Sadly, it will never make my all time favourites.

This was Pantera's best cd.

When this album is in the zone, its incredibly there. Other times, far from it.

Floods has to be one of the best metal songs ever

True but the rest of the album is pretty bad

A creative peak for Pantera IMO, which hadn't been reached again since way back when they released Power Metal.

Power Metal rules fucking hard

The solo and the outro to Floods rules. The title track, War Nerve, and Suicide note Pt 2 are all sweet too.
|

Floods is one of the only good Pantera songs, but omg it's so good.
|
| |
Floods is good, but the rest of the album... god
