I have a feeling the same people who bash the interludes praise The Mars Volta for their ridiculous electronic ramblings.
I would definitely consider this Progressive. People are so anal about that word. They experiment with concepts, electronics and atmosphere, as well as time-signatures and dissonance. Sounds progressive enough for me.
The new Re-release has better vocals. They redid alot of it. I'm not too big on the bonus/remixes of the songs off of Lover, though.
the re-release is bullshit, this album was fine to begin with.
Yeah it was fine to begin with. That doesn't mean it can't improve. Have you even heard the reissue?
I hope they come out with new stuff soon. This band is great.

the interludes in general are terrible.
Digging: Inigo Kennedy - Vaudeville
there was a couple interludes on the first pressing that were really good.
Yea so this is pretty awesome.
Interludes annoy me, but the actual songs slay.
most recent album is best
I've got it in my library, but I've yet to listen to it in-depth...
