I used to love Believer in the 90s. Admittedly, I haven't heard this record yet or the new one; been on my 'to do' list forever. However, in hindsight, I agree on your take of Dimensions. It would have been blasphemous to me at the time, but listening to that record now, all the high concept is the only part that hasn't aged very well. The entire second half of Dimensions now sounds like a big mess and 'The Birth' is just embarrassing. It sounds like the new material builds off of Dimensions' near flawless first side though and that makes me more intrigued to make catching up on them more of a priority. Good review.
