I didn't like this much at all after one listen. But a few more listens definitely let it grow on you. Yeah, they still sound like a piano rock band, because that's what they are. Is everyone expected to pull a Panic! At The Disco now with their sophomore album?

| |
No they're expecting every track not to sound exactly the same as it did on their first album and not be boring as fuck.
Actually that's a lie nobody expected that at all.

i had to give this a 1, because at my work they played the song "you found me" over and over and over. I wanted to take the
machete and cut my head off into the wrapping machine and then have an employee tote my head around like some sick trophy
in front of ANYONE who seemed to be enjoying the atrocity that is "the fray."

I honestly enjoyed their first album, well, enjoyed is a bit of an overstatement, but it wasn't horrible.
|

basically nothing here is good except you found me and where the story ends
|

you found me is really bad

This comment is beyond late
but
I like his vocals
And their songs are what I associate with school dances, although I dispise those dances, the fray manged to plant themselves in my memory, and for that I respect them and continue to sparsely enjoy this album.

I actually like this album.. haha I'm getting quite the kick reading other comments. I know The Fray is a pop band, and doesn't have AMAZING talent, however, they have feeling. Isaac (vocalist) does a great job in evoking emotion, you can tell his feelings run deep. I like that. Not comparable to many great bands, but I don't think it should be thought of as "crap."

There are moments that shine, but for all the hype it reached, it has a real identity issue.

Lost and insecure!!!!!!!!
I liked that song but I always found The Fray to be a boring piano-rock band. Although "How To Save a Life" (the song) ruled and I don't care what anyone here says

To be fair, there are a few attempts by the band to branch out of their comfort zone, however lackluster they might be. “We Build Then We Break” is the most obvious one, building off a buzzing synth line and a pulsing drumbeat rather than the omnipresent piano. It’s also the best, a song that messes with the Fray’s signature sound, introducing a sweet little guitar lick here, a spacey synth twirl here, and soaring vocals that contribute to the haunting atmosphere of the song. And the entirely out-of-place instrumental breakdown at the bridge and droning climax are awesome simply because it’s totally separate from the rest of the album. The Fray can do different, and this should give listeners hope after they’ve digested all the middle-of-the-road piano rock they can handle.
Agreed with this paragraph so hard.
