Review summed things up nicely here.

This was huge at the time. Still sits up well today.

My particular painpoint is this album set the stage for the collaborations that Cavelera would pursue to no great end result, and the turn to imitating other band styles rather than pursuing their own individual sound.

The video for Ratamahatta though deserves an 11. The B-Sides were also interesting particualry the demo tracks which were awesome.

good album not the best but it's the last album worth getting and it isnt nu-metal... more just groove metal and he doesn't sing which already seperates it from new metal

Sure Beneath the remains was a true trash classic, but unlike Slayer they moved on and explored other types of (metal) music. this may be the most original metal album of the nineties, and hell, the best and most original metal was made during the nineties, ...
