As much as I fucking adore and love Alice in Chains, I have to say this right here is the best non-Nirvana grunge album ever. I still recall buying a used copy of this from the local music store (now a toy store/tourist trap because selling physical music is a dead business) and it just blowing my fucking mind apart. Part of that was also seeing a film called "SFW" that came out shortly after this album, some weird grunge/crime film with Stephen Dorff but there was this great scene where his friend played "Room a Thousand Years Wide" on vinyl and it blew me the fuck away and I had to buy that CD immediately.
One of the greatest albums of the last 40 years, seriously. Superunknown is a classic as well and Up on the Downside is underrated as fuck and another stellar album, but Badmotorfinger is the album they should always be known for, every song is fucking amazing, the sheer HEAVINESS of this album is amazing. Jesus Christ Pose just pummels you to the fucking ground.
It doesn't feel real yet. I still can't believe Chris is gone. I want this to all be a shitty dream.

Calm down.
Vedder must be nervous, though. PJ did of course pay their blood debt when 9 people died at their show in 2000.

Gotta bump my rating, not only for Chris, but this does deserve higher than a 3.5. Room a Thousand Years Wide is so harrowing
