Intense band, exciting live shows. Too angry though.
You obviously dont know **** all about slipknot and there songs and nothing was said about slipknot being the heaviest band out there. Its obvious but that doesnt make them bad. You should go pop in your linkin park cd or some other crappy **** to protect your precious ears and shut up about slipknot!!
you are a stupid, stupid individual. you think slipknot is the heaviest band ever? go listen to ...and justice for all by metallica. no song slipknot has written even comes close to any song on that album.
P.S.- slipknot is crappy music

Yes, very much so. But honestly, Corey is not as angry as you might think when he's not singing. Like, I expected him to be totally pissed off all the time, but he was not. Very cool guy for singing such angry music.

Are they the heaviest ever? No.
Crappy music? Absolutely not. The new stuff, as far as mainstream metallish stuff is concerned, is damn good. You can't go comparing Slipknot to Metallica, they are two totally different bands and styles.
MOP > AJFA though.

A suprisingly calmer edge to Slipknot is realeased here or so you think until Corey Unleashes a roar and the guitars build then goes calmer again.
Then goes kinda crazy by the band going back to the older tracks styles by Corey and the other members roaring out the last 3/4 of the song.
brilliant.
8.5/10

I suggest you listen to Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. This song is great and was re-released in Iowa. I like the two versions, but i like more the MFKR album. Just listen to Do Nothing, Bitchslap! and Confessions to see how talented they are...
^^^ WHAT??? i hate punk music. ahaha. and what the hell do you know? you obviously watch MTV far too much because all punk bands that you have heard of ARE pop-punk (blink 182, good charlotts etc) when there are plethoras of punk bands around (bad religion, ramones, the clash, new york dolls, the sex pistols etc) that are NOT pop-punk and didnt live the glamourous lifestyle that the bands that you have mentioned do.
i dunno where you got punk from out of me, my at the drive in avatar, my at the drive in username, or my flotsam and jetsam title, but please, in the future, shut up :P
I don't think somebody with a screamo fetish should be complaining about us listening to mainstream fad music.
|

Actually, I think Slipknot have become less 'fad music' since Volume 3 came out.
I've heard so many instances of idiots bashing Slipknot for Volume 3, and saying stuff like how they 'sold out' or whatever.
...but in the process, they have gained new fans like myself who's favorite genre is prog metal. So...

nice review, i dont really like slipknot though

slipknots ok, and slipknot is definately their best album (of course ive never heard MFKR), theyre music does get a little too "chaotic" sometimes but its good music to listen to when ur pissed (20 people already said that but i need my 2 cents in). Overall id give it a 4.5/5 just because no CD is perfect.
Also, what is it with people saying theyre "the hardest ever" theres tons of bands that are "harder" than them (most death metal bands). And yes i agree that some of the musicians are talented but they definately have as fast double bass as someone said in this thread, ive heard many other bands with extremely fast double bass, in fact some bands do the bass that fast with only one pedal. Dont get me wrong i like slipknot but there not all THAT great...

I know this is like two years later and everything, but yeah I have an eroor to correct.
Eeyore is about this guy at old Slipknot shows that just wouldn't shut up. He was a fan, but had a huge mouth and talked way to much and it irritated Corey a lot.

Album Rating: 3.0
This is Slipknot's best album, and is up there with Korn, and L.D.50 as the best nu metal albums out there. However, you really failed to describe the songs aptly. You could describe how they make you feel, or how they contribute to the development or tone of the album. Instead, you provided little bits of information that anyone could find out by going to Slipknot fan sites like black-goat or metabolic666.com.
